The strangest of all the "dash calibers" because the normal caliber to Black Powder grains designation is reversed. This 40 caliber bullet will provide no trouble in rifle or pistol use and will be trouble free in Black Powder due to a lube groove carrying five times a smokeless bullets' lube capacity, Shoot a two day match and never touch them to clean or even wipe off. The hallmark of why a Big Lube(TM) Bullet is the only way to go if you shoot historically correct Black Powder. Remember if you wanted to load any Big Lube(TM) bullet with smokeless powder, you certainly could with no ill effects. Same bullet for two different types of powders and styles of shooting. That could come in handy for you Cowboys who want to shoot the B-Western or Wild Bunch categories from time to time. And next week shoot a Black powder class. 44 Mav Dutchman 200g Big Lube(TM)
My personal favorite Black Powder cartridge is the 44-40 and this bullet is tailor made and designed by SASS member Marc Van Der Karr aka "Mav Dutchman" for that caliber. Shoot till you drop with this Big Lube(TM) design. Specially placed crimp groove lets this cartridge fit it's AOL to any 44 cartridge. Sized in .427 to .430 and drops from the mould at .431. You can see that with five different sizes it will do just that. Good bullet for you 44 Magnum fans that want to shoot on Black Powder day and could be lubed in smokeless lube as well. I would bet you can't buy bore leading with that kind of lube load. Good accurate well designed and balanced bullet. I've amazed people with this bullet by shooting a six stage match....and then with the same Marlin rifle and no cleaning....dead reckoning a shot on to a 200 yard target by shooting above the sight capacity or shooting five shots on to a 100 speed target. Big Lube(TM) Bullet keep the fouling clear so your Black Powder cartridge gun keeps shooting accurately. The best Black Powder round!!

JP 45 200g Big Lube(TM)
Developed by SASS Pards "Driftwood Johnson" and "Wild Bill Peterson" to reduce the recoil in their full case load 45 Colts and still run all match in Black Powder. Nothing works better in Black Powder than a Big Lube(TM) Bullet. I personally has seen some impressive accuracy with this bullet out of SASS pard "Cherokee Irons" 45 Rugers. Works great in pistols! Works great in rifles I have seen it used in but with 45 Colt the shorter overall length could be trouble in a rifle that is picky about AOL. However, Cherokee's Marlin has zero trouble with them. Still.. I will reduced the minimum so you can be sure about your guns. E-mail me and we can talk about a "trial". Sized in .452 and .454 If your gun can chamber it...and most can in 45 Colt.....a .454 sized bullet will have a positive effect on cartridge blow-back in 45 Colt. A mainstay Cowboy bullet.
